You can teach adults or kids , and just set your availability then turn up and teach. Admittedly the pay isn’t great, but it’s an easy time-filler (zero commitment required) and good for newbies or those who don’t meet the requirements for other companies… Teaching Schedule: Set your own availability in advance using their simple and flexible calendar system, or just set your profile to “online now” and wait for students to call you. Classes can be any duration, but students often opt for a 30 minute session. Peak Times: - Literally all day any day - they have students worldwide. Teacher Requirements: - Native English speaker (not strictly defined - I know many non-native speakers with fluent English who got hired successfully) from any country - Aged 18 or older (required) - Strong internet connection and webcam (required) Salary: - $10.20 /hr paid by minute of class time. - Commit to a “priority hour” for guaranteed $2.55 even if no students call you. Some honest notes of warning: - The pay is pretty low, and it’s not guaranteed - quite often you’ll set your profile to “available” and only actually teach 10-15 minutes of that hour. Priority hours do tend to get much better booking rates, so stick to those. - There are some dodgy types on Cambly, so be prepared. If you feel uncomfortable during a class, report the student and leave. - They do provide a lot of pre-prepared teaching materials, and many students request specific lessons for their classes.
