MyTutor is the UK’s leading online tutoring platform, offering subject tutoring to children primarily aged 11-18 (although there are also primary school and university students too). A major focus is GCSE and A level tutoring, and they partner with schools across the country to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds or needing an extra boost to get their grades up. Schedule: - Set your own schedule, with no set hours. - Peak times are usually between 9am - 9pm UK time. Salary: - School’s program: £13.69 - £26.50 (pay scale depends on number of classes taught, class format: one-on-one or small group, and level) - Private tutoring: £12.80 - £36.00 (select your preferred price band however you wish) Requirements: - Currently resident in the UK . You CANNOT teach from outside the UK due to background check requirements, and the platform will block you if you try to teach on holiday or use a VPN. - Current university student or recent graduate. - A level (or equivalent) qualifications in at least one of: English / Maths / Science, or closely related subjects. Notes: - Good company to get started teaching with as a subject tutor, with low entry requirements and a supportive community. - No financial penalties or other nonsense that ESL companies do. - They DON’T provide a set curriculum, but there is a small bank of pre-made teaching resources you can use or just work through exam papers with students using the whiteboard system. - I love how low-stress MyTutor is, particularly on the school’s side. There is no pressure on “performing” for parents (as they don’t leave reviews) and you choose the students rather than the other way round. - I feel a need to emphasise again that they ONLY HIRE TUTORS RESIDENT IN THE UK.
